Meet the Team Behind Heb Group’s Northwest Success
Heb Group’s Northwest Business Unit may be less than a year old, but it’s already making a strong impact across Liverpool, Greater Manchester, and the surrounding region. Since joining the group in July 2024, the team has steadily grown in both size and capability, delivering high-quality mechanical and electrical (M&E) services and laying the foundations to expand into facilities management and cleaning & hygiene.
At the heart of this success is a group of experienced, motivated professionals who bring a wide range of technical, commercial, and site-based skills to every project. Working collaboratively across pre-construction, delivery, and support roles, the team plays a vital role in helping Heb Group establish its reputation as a trusted building services provider in the Northwest.

Leading the estimating and pre-construction effort are Graeme Powell, Michael Cannon, Michael Brougham, and Alex McBride. Their combined experience enables the Northwest Business Unit to develop competitive tenders and provide informed technical advice during early project planning. Whether pricing packages for supported living developments or managing complex bid returns for healthcare and residential schemes, their expertise helps Heb produce accurate, value-led solutions that meet client expectations and programme requirements.
On the commercial side, Dan Maddocks, Assistant Quantity Surveyor, is one of the unit’s rising stars. Since joining Heb, Dan has contributed to the successful financial management of several live projects, supporting tasks such as subcontract procurement, cost tracking, valuations, and client reporting. His progression reflects Heb Group’s wider focus on growing in-house talent, ensuring commercial strength not just today, but for the future.

Project delivery across the region is led by experienced project managers, site managers and engineers who uphold Heb’s commitment to quality and safety. Key figures include Alun Bunday, Jamie Holden, Billy James, Reece McFee, Dave Craggs, Paul Roberts, Darren Niblett, and Ian Mackintosh, who oversee M&E works across a range of sectors. Their day-to-day responsibilities include site coordination, compliance, subcontractor management, and client liaison, ensuring that all systems are installed efficiently, tested thoroughly, and handed over to specification.

Behind the scenes, Janine Coogan plays a critical role in keeping the operation running smoothly. As the team’s administrator, Janine provides essential support across project documentation, scheduling, compliance tracking, and office logistics. Her organisation ensures that both site and commercial teams are well-supported, and that project governance standards are consistently maintained.
The collaborative environment within the Northwest team has been a major driver of success. While the business unit operates with local autonomy, it benefits from close ties with Heb’s other regional teams in Sheffield, Doncaster, and Leeds. This group-wide collaboration helps the Northwest team share best practice, access broader technical resources, and maintain consistency across all projects.
As the division continues to grow, the plan is to build on this strong foundation by expanding services beyond M&E delivery. Heb Group’s goal is to introduce dedicated facilities management and cleaning & hygiene services in the Northwest, offering clients a joined-up solution for everything from installation and commissioning to planned maintenance and hygiene compliance.
With a passionate and capable team already in place, and a clear roadmap for the months ahead, Heb’s Northwest Business Unit is well-positioned for long-term success. The focus now is on continuing to deliver great work, building relationships, and introducing the people behind the projects to a wider audience.
