Building Fabric Technician
We’re looking for an experienced Building Fabric Technician to join our Facilities Management division. This is a varied role suited to someone who enjoys problem-solving, working across different sites, and delivering high-quality building repairs and maintenance. About the Role
As a Building Fabric Technician, you’ll be responsible for carrying out both planned and reactive maintenance across a wide range of sites. This will include internal and external works such as roof and gutter repairs, brickwork, flooring, car park surfacing, cladding, doors, signage, glazing, and painting. Your role is vital to ensuring buildings remain safe, functional, and compliant.
You’ll also support broader building fabric works, including carpentry, joinery, and minor plumbing and drainage repairs, such as fixing sinks, toilets, and leaking taps. This multi-skilled approach means no two days are the same, and you’ll have the opportunity to apply and develop your expertise across a range of trades.

You’ll work closely with our Contracts Managers and Helpdesk team, following instructions and updating progress via our CAFM system. Alongside this, you’ll maintain safe working practices, engage with ongoing training, and support our sustainability goals by using materials responsibly and recycling where possible.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver planned preventative maintenance (PPM), reactive repairs, and installation works across building fabric and structures.
- Carry out a wide range of tasks including roofing, flooring, brickwork, cladding, glazing, painting, and decorating.
- Support with carpentry and joinery tasks, including fitting doors, windows, locks, and handles.
- Complete minor plumbing and drainage repairs, including toilets, sinks, and taps.
- Update our CAFM system accurately with job details, progress, and completion records.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations at all times.
- Represent Heb Group in a professional manner on client sites.
What We’re Looking For
- NVQ Level 2 in General Building Operations, Joinery, or equivalent.
- Valid and up-to-date CSCS card.
- Proven experience in building maintenance or shopfitting.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently.
- Full UK driving licence (essential).
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Flexible and customer-focused approach with a commitment to high standards.
