Modern Slavery Statement

We are committed to acting ethically and with integrity in all areas of our business. We have a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery and human trafficking, and we take active steps to ensure that these practices have no place in our operations or supply chains.

This statement is made pursuant to Section 54(1) of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and sets out the measures Heb Group has taken, and continues to take, to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking.

Our Business and Structure

Heb Group is a multi-disciplinary services provider operating across the UK, delivering Mechanical & Electrical, Facilities Management, and Cleaning & Hygiene services. With over 275 employees, supported by subcontractors and supply chain partners, we work across a wide range of sectors including healthcare, education, retail, commercial, and industry.

Our operations are built around our values; safety first, honesty, passion, improvement, and teamwork. These values underpin our approach to preventing modern slavery and ensuring safe, fair, and respectful working practices.

Policies and Governance

We have a dedicated Modern Slavery Policy in place, supported by our wider policies on Health & Safety, Equality & Diversity, and Responsible Procurement. Together, these frameworks set out our expectations for ethical behaviour across our workforce, supply chains, and partners.

Our Board of Directors has overall responsibility for ensuring compliance. Oversight is provided by our Group Health, Safety & Environmental Manager and our HR and H&S Coordinator, who monitor practices across all divisions.

Risk Assessment and Due Diligence

We recognise that certain areas of our supply chain may be more vulnerable to the risks of modern slavery, particularly where subcontracted labour or complex material supply chains are involved. To manage these risks, we:

  • Conduct due diligence checks on suppliers and subcontractors before engagement.
  • Require adherence to our policies as part of contractual agreements.
  • Carry out regular reviews and audits of higher-risk areas of our supply chain.
  • Work only with partners who can demonstrate compliance with UK employment laws and ethical standards.

Training and Awareness

We provide training to our managers and employees to help them identify the signs of modern slavery and human trafficking. Awareness is embedded in our induction processes and reinforced through toolbox talks, compliance updates, and ongoing communications.

We ensure that all staff understand how to raise concerns and encourage a culture of openness where issues can be reported confidentially and without fear of reprisal.

Monitoring and Continuous Improvement

To measure the effectiveness of our actions, we monitor:

  • Completion rates of staff training on modern slavery and ethical practices.
  • Supplier audit outcomes and compliance with contractual requirements.
  • The number of reported concerns and the actions taken in response.

We are committed to continually improving our approach, learning from best practice, and strengthening safeguards across our business.

Reporting Concerns

Employees, suppliers, and stakeholders are encouraged to report any concerns about modern slavery within our operations or supply chain. Reports can be raised confidentially through our internal channels and will be investigated thoroughly.
