Cellar Cooling Technician
We’re looking for a skilled Cellar Cooling Technician to join our Facilities Management team. This is a specialist role focused on cellar cooling and refrigeration systems, suited to someone who enjoys variety, problem-solving, and delivering high-quality technical work across different sites. About the Role
As a Cellar Cooling Technician, you’ll be responsible for planned preventative maintenance (PPM), fault finding, reactive repairs, and installations across a range of refrigeration and cooling systems. These include cellar cooling equipment, split and multi-split systems, small commercial refrigeration, and heat pumps with associated electrical controls.
You’ll also carry out performance testing, commissioning, and compliance checks to ensure all systems are operating efficiently and safely. A key part of the role will be diagnosing faults and carrying out repairs quickly and effectively, while keeping clients informed and sites compliant with all relevant legislation.

In addition, you’ll work closely with our Contracts Managers and Helpdesk team to manage reactive callouts and on-call rota duties. You’ll keep accurate updates in our CAFM system and ensure all work is completed in line with Service Level Agreements, health and safety regulations, and environmental standards
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver PPM, reactive repairs, and installation works on cellar cooling and refrigeration systems.
- Diagnose and repair faults in cooling equipment, split systems, and condensers.
- Carry out performance testing, commissioning, and compliance checks.
- Provide on-call support as part of a rota for urgent callouts.
- Compile accurate quotations for repairs and installations.
- Update our CAFM system with progress and completion details.
- Ensure compliance with F-Gas regulations, health and safety, and environmental requirements.
- Represent Heb Group professionally with clients and colleagues.
What We’re Looking For
- City & Guilds or NVQ Level 2/3 in Refrigeration & Air Conditioning (or equivalent).
- F-Gas Category 2 Certification (essential).
- Experience in refrigeration maintenance, repair, and installation.
- Strong knowledge of compliance requirements including F-Gas and H&S.
- Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and IT skills, including use of CAFM systems.
- Full UK driving licence (essential).
- Flexible, self-motivated, and customer-focused attitude.
- Willingness to participate in an out-of-hours call-out rota.
