Heb Mechanical & Electrical is seeking an experienced Electrical Site Manager to join our growing North West operations team. This is an opportunity to take responsibility for the day-to-day management and supervision of electrical installations, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to the highest quality standards.Working across a range of construction projects, the successful candidate will play an important role in coordinating site activities, managing labour and subcontractors, and supporting the successful delivery of electrical building services installations.

As part of our continued growth, we are looking to appoint an experienced Electrical Site Manager to strengthen our North West operations team and support the successful delivery of projects across the region.

Role Overview

Reporting to the Project Manager, the Electrical Site Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day management and supervision of electrical installations on site, ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently and in accordance with approved drawings, specifications and programme requirements.

Working closely with Project Managers, subcontractors, suppliers and site teams, the successful candidate will coordinate labour and resources, monitor progress, maintain quality standards and ensure compliance with Heb Group's operational procedures.

The role will also act as a key point of contact on site, supporting effective communication, identifying and resolving technical issues, and maintaining high standards of health, safety and environmental performance throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and supervise electrical installation activities on site, ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently and in accordance with the agreed programme.
  • Lead site health and safety activities, including inspections, toolbox talks and compliance with Heb Group procedures and project-specific requirements.
  • Ensure electrical installations are completed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, relevant regulations and required quality standards.
  • Coordinate directly employed labour, subcontractors and other trades to maintain progress and effective site operations.
  • Monitor site progress against the construction programme, identifying potential delays or issues and reporting these promptly to the Project Manager.
  • Maintain regular communication with the Project Manager, site teams, clients and other relevant stakeholders regarding progress, requirements and site issues.
  • Review and work from current project drawings and information, ensuring the correct documentation is being used on site.
  • Raise Requests for Information (RFIs) where required and support the resolution of technical and coordination issues.
  • Coordinate deliveries, storage, use and returns of materials, ensuring appropriate control and handling of goods on site.
  • Carry out regular quality inspections and snagging checks, ensuring defects and non-conformances are identified and resolved.
  • Maintain accurate site records and project documentation, including progress information, inspection records and other required documentation.
  • Support testing, commissioning, project completion and handover activities as required.
  • Promote a positive health, safety and environmental culture across all site activities.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, company procedures and industry standards, including the preparation, review and implementation of Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS).
  • Work collaboratively with the Project Manager and wider project team to support successful project delivery.
  • Support the supervision and development of site operatives, apprentices and other members of the project team where appropriate.
  • Promote sustainable working practices, including the responsible use of resources, materials and recycling wherever possible.
  • Carry out site activities across Heb Group projects and locations as required.
  • Undertake any other duties reasonably required within the scope of the role.

Personal Specification

Essential Qualifications & Experience

  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification in Electrical Installation, Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • ECS/CSCS Management or appropriate site management card.
  • SSSTS or SMSTS qualification.
  • Proven experience working as an Electrical Site Manager, Electrical Supervisor or in a similar role within the M&E or construction industry.
  • Strong technical knowledge of electrical building services installations.
  • Good working knowledge of current electrical regulations, industry standards and relevant Building Regulations.
  • Good understanding of construction programmes, site operations and project delivery.
  • Experience supervising directly employed labour, subcontractors and multi-trade activities.
  • Strong understanding of health, safety and environmental requirements within a construction environment.
  • Excellent communication, organisational and leadership skills.
  • Ability to prioritise workload, manage site activities and meet project deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a wider project team.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.

Desirable Qualifications & Experience

  • HNC/HND or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering or Building Services Engineering.
  • City & Guilds 2391 Inspection & Testing or equivalent.
  • IOSH Managing Safely.
  • First Aid at Work qualification.
  • Experience delivering projects across healthcare, education, commercial, industrial or public-sector environments.
  • Knowledge of NEC and JCT forms of contract.
  • Experience working with BIM and digital project information.
  • AP (Authorised Person) and/or HV/LV experience.
  • Asbestos Awareness.
