Maintenance Electrician

We’re looking for a skilled Maintenance Electrician to join our Facilities Management division. This role is suited to someone with a strong electrical background who enjoys variety, problem-solving, and working across different sites. About the Role

As a Maintenance Electrician, you’ll be responsible for delivering both planned and reactive maintenance across a wide range of electrical systems. Your work will cover lighting, distribution boards, pumps, motors, fire and intruder alarms, PAT testing, and building management systems.

You’ll also be expected to carry out electrical installations, alterations, and testing to specification and legislation standards. Fault-finding and problem resolution are central to the role, ensuring systems remain safe, reliable, and fully compliant with regulations.

In addition, you’ll respond to reactive callouts from our Helpdesk, support clients with urgent needs, and provide on-call cover as part of a rota. You’ll keep job records accurate in our CAFM system, ensure compliance with SLAs, and maintain high standards of health and safety at all times.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver planned preventative maintenance (PPM), reactive repairs, and installations across electrical systems.
  • Carry out electrical testing, alterations, and installations to legislative standards.
  • Diagnose and repair electrical faults quickly and effectively.
  • Support systems including lighting, distribution boards, fire alarms, pumps, motors, BMS, PAT testing, and HVAC.
  • Provide on-call support as part of a rota for urgent callouts.
  • Compile accurate quotations for repair and installation works.
  • Update the CAFM system with progress and completion details.
  • Represent Heb Group professionally with clients and colleagues.

What We’re Looking For

  • NVQ Level 3, AM2, and City & Guilds 2391 Inspection & Testing.
  • Proven experience in electrical maintenance and installation.
  • Strong ability to diagnose and repair a wide range of electrical systems.
  • Full UK driving licence (essential).
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • IT literate with experience using CAFM systems.
  • Flexible, self-motivated, and customer-focused.
  • Commitment to high standards of safety and workmanship.
