Mechanical Supervisor / Site Manager - Leeds

We’re looking for an experienced Mechanical Supervisor / Site Manager to join our Mechanical & Electrical division. This is a key role for someone with strong leadership and technical expertise, capable of managing on-site mechanical works, coordinating multi-trade teams, and ensuring compliance with Heb’s high standards of quality and safety.

About the Role

As a Mechanical Supervisor / Site Manager, you’ll oversee all mechanical installations on site, ensuring every aspect is completed safely, efficiently, and in line with design specifications. You’ll supervise both mechanical and electrical trades, manage subcontractors, and coordinate activities to meet programme deadlines.

Your responsibilities will include monitoring progress against the construction programme, reviewing and maintaining ITP documentation, managing snagging and defect resolution, and overseeing materials and logistics in conjunction with the storeman. You’ll also lead toolbox talks, enforce HSE compliance, and ensure that all works are carried out to Heb Group’s exacting standards.

This site-based position requires a practical leader with excellent communication skills, strong technical knowledge, and a commitment to delivering safe, high-quality installations on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead on-site health and safety, including inspections, toolbox talks, and enforcing HSE standards.
  • Supervise mechanical works and coordinate with electrical trades for smooth project delivery.
  • Ensure all installations meet specifications, drawings, and quality requirements.
  • Complete and maintain Inspection & Test Plan (ITP) documentation.
  • Monitor progress against programme schedules and update reports.
  • Manage subcontractors, materials, and logistics effectively.
  • Review snag lists, verify completed works, and sign off mechanical installations.
  • Maintain accurate site records, reports, and “As Fitted” drawings.

What We’re Looking For

  • ECS/CSCS card holder.
  • SSSTS or SMSTS certification.
  • Proven experience as a Mechanical Supervisor or Site Manager within M&E or construction projects.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, drawings, and specifications.
  • Excellent understanding of health, safety, and environmental legislation.
  • Experience managing subcontractors and coordinating multi-trade environments.
  • Effective communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
