Multi-Trade (Plumbing & Drainage) Technician

We’re looking for a skilled and versatile Multi-Trade Technician with a strong background in plumbing and drainage. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys variety, is confident working across different sites, and takes pride in delivering safe, high-quality work. If you’re flexible, customer-focused, and able to respond quickly to reactive jobs, we’d like to hear from you.

About the Role

As a Multi-Trade Technician, you will play a vital role in keeping our clients’ facilities running smoothly. The core of your work will focus on plumbing and drainage, covering hot and cold-water systems, sanitaryware, pumps, tanks, and rainwater goods. You will also be expected to diagnose and resolve drainage issues, from unblocking and jetting to pipework repairs, ensuring that systems remain safe and compliant.

Beyond plumbing, this is a multi-trade role where no two days are the same. You may be required to carry out supporting works in carpentry, tiling, plastering, or painting to complete plumbing-related tasks. This flexibility allows you to broaden your skills while ensuring our clients receive a seamless service. You’ll be trusted to work independently, travelling to various sites, and will often be the first point of contact representing Heb FM on-site.

You will also provide reactive maintenance support, responding quickly to urgent callouts and short-notice requests, as well as delivering scheduled PPM tasks. Working closely with our Contracts Managers and Helpdesk team, you’ll use our CAFM system to log progress and updates, ensuring every job is completed to the highest standards. Health and safety compliance is central to the role, and ongoing training will ensure you remain up to date with the latest standards and best practice.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver planned preventative maintenance (PPM), reactive repairs, and small installations.
  • Diagnose and repair plumbing and drainage issues, including unblocking, jetting, and leak detection.
  • Complete multi-trade tasks where needed to finish plumbing-related works.
  • Provide on-call support as part of a rota for urgent callouts.
  • Update our CAFM system with accurate progress and completion details.
  • Always maintain safe working practices in line with regulations and training.
  • Represent Heb Group professionally with clients and colleagues.

What We’re Looking For

  • NVQ Level 2/3 in Plumbing (or equivalent).
  • Experience in plumbing installations, servicing, and maintenance.
  • Proven knowledge of drainage systems including jetting and repairs.
  • Multi-trade skills (carpentry, tiling, plastering, or painting) are an advantage.
  • Full UK driving licence (essential).
  • Water Regulations (WRAS), Unvented Hot Water (G3), or Confined Spaces/Jetting certification desirable.
  • A flexible, customer-focused attitude and willingness to join a call-out rota.
