The Sheffield Business Unit is the foundation of Heb M&E and continues to lead many of our largest, most complex projects across South Yorkshire, including in Sheffield, Barnsley, Doncaster, and Rotherham.

With decades of collective experience, this team delivers building services that are safe, reliable, and sector-specific, covering everything from school upgrades and care homes to retail parks, leisure centres, and industrial plants.

This region is especially known for delivering in live environments. Our teams work safely and respectfully in operational schools, occupied NHS facilities, and residential buildings, coordinating tightly with clients and site managers to keep disruption to a minimum. We’re proud to be the go to M&E contractor for several public sector frameworks, delivering everything from lighting and ventilation to full plant room replacements, switchgear upgrades, and compliance packages.

Our Sheffield based workforce is large, agile, and scalable, with the depth to deliver fast turnaround projects and the structure to support longer-term frameworks across multiple buildings.

The Sheffield Operations team oversees delivery across a busy portfolio of projects. They manage site teams, specialist subcontractors, procurement coordination, site safety, and programme control.

Their scope of work includes heating and cooling systems, extract and ductwork, power distribution, data cabling, life safety systems, and more.

Led by Lewis Hudson and Ryan Johnson, the team takes on refurbishment, upgrade, and new build projects across education, healthcare, retail, and social housing. Compliance, testing, and handover are supported by our in-house Technical Manager.

The Sheffield commercial team provides the strategic foundation for project success, handling everything from bid coordination and estimating to subcontractor procurement and final account closure.

They manage full pricing models across heating, plumbing, ventilation, controls, and electrical systems, supporting competitive tenders and framework bids while protecting margins, programme viability, and buildability.

Responsive M&E Delivery Across West Yorkshire

The Leeds Business Unit provides full M&E delivery across Leeds, Bradford, Wakefield, Huddersfield, and wider West Yorkshire. With strong relationships across the education and commercial property sectors, this team is frequently appointed on the basis of its collaborative planning, clean handovers, and low-disruption delivery.

The team leads on both new build and refurbishment projects, working across live school campuses, NHS buildings, high-spec apartments, shopping centres, and leisure facilities. Whether installing new heating and chilled water systems, LED lighting upgrades, or high-performance ventilation, they bring the same focus on safety, clarity, and compliance.

Operations in Leeds are led by Martin Womersley, Craig Fletcher, and Aidy Oram, each with deep site experience and the ability to manage complex delivery schedules. They coordinate directly with consultants, main contractors, and end clients, maintaining strong communication throughout the works.

This team is trusted to deliver time sensitive projects in logistically challenging environments, often across multiple sites simultaneously. Their strengths include early mobilisation, site logistics, and consistent delivery under pressure.

Supporting the Leeds team with commercial certainty and early planning, this group provides estimating, cost planning, and procurement input across every stage. Their advice helps shape client briefs into buildable, cost-effective programmes.

They are especially experienced in supporting projects that move from design and build into live delivery, ensuring clarity on scope, risk, and value.

The Northwest Business Unit is based in St Helens and supports projects across Liverpool, Merseyside, Greater Manchester, Cheshire, and Lancashire. The team is active in healthcare, social housing, education, and local authority works, delivering mechanical and electrical installations on both new build and occupied premises.

Known for its hands on delivery model, the Northwest team brings attention to detail and a proactive site presence, helping clients avoid delays and maintain strong control over live environments. From emergency lighting and LV infrastructure to mechanical plant, water systems, and life safety installations, the team is built to deliver across a wide variety of systems and settings.

Project delivery is led by Steve Sinclair and Alun Bunday, supported by project managers and specialist site supervisors. From commercial office fit-outs to school infrastructure upgrades and high-volume housing works, this team delivers with professionalism, responsiveness, and regional knowledge.

Health and safety is prioritised across every site, with the team working closely with our internal H&S function to support compliance, training, and workforce readiness.

Supporting programme success through accurate costing and proactive contract management, the Northwest commercial team is involved from bid to closeout. They support design coordination, supply chain strategy, and commercial tracking, helping protect client outcomes and project profitability alike.
