Stocksbridge Regeneration Project, Fox Valley
- Client:
- Dransfield Properties
- Date:
- February 2014 – Spring 2016
H E Barnes equipped the leisure facility with a comprehensive automatic control and monitoring system utilising a proprietary Building Management System designed to control and monitor all of the engineering services, including air conditioning and heat recovery.
In conjunction with traditional hot and cold-water supplies divided across three distinct zones (pool, fitness and health), low temperature hot water heating was installed to the swimming pool, radiators, AHU heating coils with a series of pumps and intelligent sensors for optimum performance. Energy efficiency was paramount for the Client, therefore a combined heat & power plant was installed.
H E Barnes installed a range of luminaires tailored to each area, with occupancy sensors and IP rated safety lighting in the pool area and wet changing rooms. Unlike similar leisure centre projects, North Active has examination and treatment rooms that required antimicrobial examination lights and panic alarms in each private space. With interactive media being a key part of bringing the leisure centre to life, it was an integral consideration to the telephony, television, Wi-Fi and data installations. The final scheme achieved a ‘Very Good’ classification under the BREEAM Assessment Method.
