At Heb Facilities Management, we deliver comprehensive electrical and HVAC planned preventative maintenance, remedial, and reactive maintenance services for PureGym across 176 sites throughout the North and Midlands. Supporting one of the UK’s largest fitness operators requires a highly responsive and carefully coordinated maintenance model capable of operating effectively within live 24/7 gym environments.

PureGym facilities experience continuous footfall throughout the day and night, placing significant demand on critical building services and infrastructure. Maintaining safe, compliant, and fully operational gym environments is essential not only for operational continuity, but also for member comfort, experience, and overall brand standards across the estate.

Our partnership with PureGym originally began through the delivery of electrical planned preventative maintenance and reactive support services across the regional estate. Following the successful mobilisation and ongoing operational performance of the contract, we were later awarded responsibility for HVAC planned and reactive maintenance across the Northern estate.

Working closely with PureGym’s property and operational teams, we continue to provide support across electrical compliance, emergency lighting, fixed wire testing, ventilation systems, heating and cooling infrastructure, reactive maintenance, and wider building services support. Through our engineering teams, CAFM systems, and operational structure, we deliver a facilities management solution tailored specifically to the demands of the fitness and leisure sector.

We recently held our first annual review with the PureGym client team, providing an opportunity to review operational performance, communication, service delivery, and the overall success of the partnership across the first year of the contract.

Following the review, we were extremely pleased to receive very positive feedback from the client team regarding our overall performance across the estate. Feedback recognised the responsiveness of our engineering teams, the consistency of service delivery, and the collaborative approach maintained throughout the partnership.

Delivering facilities management services within live 24/7 fitness environments requires strong communication, operational flexibility, and a proactive maintenance strategy. Every PureGym site operates differently depending on occupancy levels, equipment usage, and operational demand, requiring maintenance activity to be carefully managed with minimal disruption to members and staff.

Our planned preventative maintenance programmes include Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICRs), emergency lighting inspections, electrical servicing, HVAC inspections, ventilation checks, filter replacements, and wider mechanical and electrical maintenance completed in line with SFG20 standards and current industry regulations. Alongside this, our reactive maintenance service provides rapid-response support for urgent electrical and HVAC issues across all supported sites.

Supporting Operational Reliability Across Live Fitness Environments

Operating a large multi-site gym estate requires more than simply responding to faults as they arise. Our facilities management approach focuses heavily on proactive asset management, preventative maintenance planning, and the early identification of developing issues to help improve operational reliability and reduce disruption across the estate.

During planned maintenance visits, our engineers are able to identify signs of deterioration, inefficiencies, or developing faults early, allowing remedial works to be planned and completed before issues escalate into larger operational problems. This proactive approach helps improve asset lifespan, reduce reactive call-outs, and maintain operational continuity throughout the portfolio.

Using our CAFM systems, we manage and track all planned, reactive, and remedial works in real time. This provides complete visibility of maintenance history, compliance documentation, service records, and live operational updates across the estate, ensuring PureGym’s property team retains full oversight of maintenance activity throughout the contract.
